Brucie Baxter

It was a cool night in December. Ten days before Christmas and Mom received an early Christmas present. A beautiful little girl with brown hair and brown eyes that she named Suzanne Marie Adams.

I do not remember much about my child hood years.  I do remember the fun we had playing with the Tollison and the Johnson families, going to Opa Locka Park, the beach, on picnics and the Johnson's Lake and their cute St. Bernard named Barney.

I am married to my wonderful husband of ten and a half wonderful years, Bob.

We met in 1976 and bowled together until 1978.  We met back up in September of 1981 at Winn Dixie. We dated for seven and a half years and decided we were having The Time of Our Lives and so we got married.

We had hope to have children one day, but our dreams were crushed when we were told by our doctors we would not be able to. We both went thru all kinds of test and also did artificial insemination to have a child.

I was referred to a fertility specialists. After we were told that it would cost between eight and ten thousand dollars and it would not be a guarantee, we decided not to have any children.

So we adopted two more cats (British Shorthair), bought a new sports car and a new computer.

All of our friends kept telling us, "you will get pregnant now that you have a sports car." And they were right. Three months later I was pregnant. Good bye sports car, hello SUV.

On Friday, Aug 14, 1998, I started having some problems. I went to the hospital and the doctor said everything will be fine. It could be another week or so before I delivered. The nurse had told me my contraction would start in my back first.  I told the doctor I would see him tonight after the Jaguar game. Bob said as long as it is after the game and all the traffic is clear no problem.  Well it was 2am and I woke Bob up, I told him I could not take much more of the pain I was having and I was not going to wait until the contraction started in my back.  So off to the hospital we went, game was over and traffic was clear, thank god the traffic was clear, because down town traffic is terrible after a game in town. After having some complications, the doctor decided to do an emergency c-section.

Brucie was born at 9:26am on August 15, 1998 weighing 7lb 8oz.  He was just precious.

Everyone wanted to know where the red hair came from and Bob would say it is not red it is wheat color.

To this day, he is our pride and joy and still a precious little devil.
